Overview
FortiAnalyzer Cloud
Fortinet-hosted log analytics subscribed by log volume, with OT security, SOC and generative AI services available on top.
Logging, analytics and reporting for the Security Fabric
FortiAnalyzer is the logging, analytics and reporting half of Fortinet’s management story: FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP and FortiClient send their logs to it, and it turns them into correlated events, reports and the evidence trail an audit needs. It is also what several other Fortinet services depend on — the FortiClient forensics and SOCaaS subscriptions, for instance, state that a FortiAnalyzer is required and not included.
Analytics without the appliance
FortiAnalyzer Cloud is the hosted form: Fortinet runs the instance and the subscription is sized by log volume. It removes the capacity-planning problem that comes with an appliance, because retention is extended by adding storage to the subscription rather than by replacing a chassis that has run out of disk.
Services on top
Several services are layered on the cloud instance rather than bundled into it. The OT Security Service adds OT analytics, reporting and the signatures that industrial estates need. A generative AI subscription brings large-language-model assistance to analysis, with capacity metered in tokens and top-up licences available. Storage add-ons and the FortiAnalyzer Storage Connector Service handle longer retention and backup to cloud storage.
