Two vCPUs, 15 Gbps of firewall throughput and up to 25 VDOMs — the first step up where one core has run out of headroom.

Stepping up from the FortiGate VM01V to the FortiGate VM02V moves threat-protection throughput from 700 Mbps to 1.2 Gbps (1.7×), IPS throughput from 3.5 Gbps / 1 Gbps to 5.5 Gbps / 1.5 Gbps (1.6×) and NGFW throughput from 850 Mbps to 1.5 Gbps (1.8×). Neither choice moves SSL-VPN throughput (800 Mbps against 830 Mbps) or the site-to-site tunnel count (both 2,000), so a site held back by remote-access capacity gains nothing from the FG-VM02V.
6 of the 22 published rows are identical — Network Interface Support at 1 / 10, Storage Support at 32 GB / 2 TB, Unlimited User License at Yes and Maximum Number of FortiTokens at 1,000 among them — so the choice does not touch any of those.
Every published row for both models, grouped the way Fortinet groups them. A dash means the figure is not published for that model.
