FortiAP 443K
The 441K with ten external RP-SMA antennas, for a space where the coverage pattern has to be shaped.
When the Coverage Has to Be Shaped
Electrically the 443K is the 441K. The difference is ten external RP-SMA connectors in place of internal antennas, which lets an installer fit directional or high-gain elements and aim the coverage - down a warehouse aisle, along a corridor, into a specific zone - rather than accept an omnidirectional pattern from the ceiling. Choose it when the room shape, not the throughput, is the problem.
Managed From the Firewall, Not a Controller
A FortiAP has no separate controller to buy, licence or patch. It is managed from a FortiGate, from FortiEdge Cloud or through FortiSASE, which means the wireless policy and the security policy are configured in the same place and the access point is part of the Security Fabric rather than a device bolted on beside it. For a site that already runs a FortiGate, adding wireless is adding an access point and nothing else.
