FortiSwitch 424E-FPOE
Twenty-four PoE+ ports with a 421 W budget and 10 Gigabit uplinks, at 30.9 dBA.
Quiet, Powered and Redundant
A 24-port switch delivering 421 W of PoE normally makes itself heard. At 30.9 dBA this one does not, and it carries a redundant AC supply as standard rather than as an external box. For a branch comms room that is really a cupboard off an occupied office, that combination is the reason to choose it over the cheaper 200 Series equivalent.
Managed as an Extension of the Firewall
A FortiSwitch can run standalone, but the reason to buy one alongside a FortiGate is FortiLink: the switch becomes a logical extension of the firewall, so ports, VLANs and network access control are configured in the same console as the security policy. That removes the usual split between the team that owns the switch and the team that owns the firewall, and it is why NAC on these switches costs nothing extra.
