The 6 GHz band is not available in every regulatory domain and its use is subject to regional regulatory approval.

FortiAP 244K
Outdoor Wi-Fi 7 with a 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplink - fibre to the access point, outside.
Fibre to an Outdoor Access Point
The SFP+ port is what distinguishes the 244K. Copper has a 100 metre limit, which is often the real constraint on where an outdoor access point can go; a fibre uplink removes it, and at 10 Gigabit it will not be the bottleneck either. Combined with four-radio Wi-Fi 7 and internal antennas, it suits a car park, a perimeter or a remote building that is further from the comms room than copper allows.
Managed From the Firewall, Not a Controller
A FortiAP has no separate controller to buy, licence or patch. It is managed from a FortiGate, from FortiEdge Cloud or through FortiSASE, which means the wireless policy and the security policy are configured in the same place and the access point is part of the Security Fabric rather than a device bolted on beside it. For a site that already runs a FortiGate, adding wireless is adding an access point and nothing else.
