IPS, application control, NGFW and threat protection figures are measured with logging enabled. NGFW is firewall, IPS and application control; threat protection adds malware protection.
IPsec VPN performance is tested with AES256-SHA256. SSL inspection figures are an average across HTTPS cipher suites.
CAPWAP throughput is listed as TBA in the August 2025 datasheet and has not been published.
Wireless appliances ship under a region code - the part numbers above are the Region A (Americas) variant sold in Canada. Other regions carry a different suffix.

The FortiWiFi 30G is the FortiGate 30G with a dual-band 802.11ax radio added, so a branch, a retail unit or a home office gets its next-generation firewall, its SD-WAN edge and its wireless access point from a single appliance. Throughput, session capacity and VPN figures are identical to the wired model - the radio is what you are adding, not a different platform.
Converged Next-Generation Firewall and SD-WAN
The FortiGate and FortiWiFi 30G series integrate firewalling, SD-WAN and security in one appliance, making them suited to building secure networks at distributed enterprise sites and transforming WAN architecture at any scale. The series runs on FortiOS, the industry first converged networking and security operating system, so one operating system covers both the networking and the security side of the deployment.
Built on the Fortinet Security Fabric
As a cornerstone of the Fortinet Security Fabric, the FortiGate NGFW works with FortiGuard AI-Powered Security Services to deliver coordinated, automated threat protection in real time.
